Sila is an alumni of NYU/ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop and BMI Composing for the Screen Mentorship Program. Her screen and stage credits include scores for Catskill Chainsaw Redemption, a short film by Emmy winning writer J.R. Havlan of “The Daily Show with John Stewart”; documentary First American Art; documentary 9/11: 10 Years Later for History Channel; A Character Story, short film by cartoonist Liana Finck presented by the Daily Forward; music for the play Terrotica, by Brad Krumholz, staged by NACL at the Ohio Theater in NYC and the musical Spin, the score for Brindlebeast, a new musical in voice, song and American Sign Language with book and lyrics by Anita Riggio and the original score to feature documentary Sisters in Freedom, directed by Wendy Cox and Andrew Ferrett. This score received 2 Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards for Musical Composition and Audio. She has also composed music for commercial and media projects for GE, Lockheed Martin, Kumon, Lilian August and AAAS. She is currently working on the score for Perception, a TV Thriller Pilot created and directed by PJ Posner.
Sila sees music as a collaborative medium and welcomes opportunities to work with film makers, writers, choreographers, artists on any media where music is an integral part of story telling.
